Dates for your diary!
Artsfest in Birmingham City Centre – 10th – 11th September 2011
I’ll be exhibiting my work and demonstrating my techniques at ‘Art on the Railings’ in the city centre on both days. Look for ‘cocoa art’ the name for the trio of artists I work with – Karen Arnold and Rebecca Jayne Dolby. Both are brilliant artists and well worth a look. Mine’s not bad either!! We work in various mediums and styles so theres something for everyone.
Look forward to seeing you there!

Rockpool series – FOR SALE
Rockpool 1 Graphite drawing
Rockpool – 2 Pen & Ink drawing
Rockpool – 3 Pen & Ink sketch
Rockpool – 4 White ink on black card
Rockpool 5 Watercolour & Ink
Rockpool 6 acrylic paint on paper
Part of a series of work based on a photograph I took last summer in Cornwall which I cropped and produced the first drawing in graphite of a rockpool and shells. From this I continued the series and
each piece is based on the last work in each work, hopefully each piece will gradually change – as ‘Chinese whispers’ in art!
More to follow!
As before I poured watercolour paint over in prussian blue and cad yellow. Then worked into the Cartridge paper with oil pastels followed by acrylic paint.
One of two works. I used two types of paper – watercolour paper and heavy cartridge paper, 2 colours – blues and yellows.
After pouring watercolour over both papers, I worked into the WC paper with
more watercolour paint then with oil and soft pastels and silver acrylic paint.
An ink sketch looking at the connecting points in a group of bubbles. Again, part of a series of work looking at bubbles, (which was inspired by work I did over last summer about the sea.) It is part of a work in process.
Watercolour on paper. Taken from a cropped section of the ink sketch. I love working in watercolour, especially wet in wet – very relaxing!
Drizzeled paint onto board inspired by the ink and watercolour sketches
