‘Art on the Railings’ – Centenary Square, Broad Street

With co artists Karen Arnold and Rebecca Jayne Dolby I took part in this years Arts Fest in Birmingham under the collective name ‘Cocoa Art’ What a great weekend! There was so much going on – and free! Our pitch was near the big stage in Centenary square where all sorts of music and bands were playing – and for an hour on Sunday morning we learnt to salsa dance! Brilliant weekend and very enjoyable.

Karen and I manned the stand and had lots of welcome comments, sales and a few commisions. Here’s to 2012 Art Fest!

Dates for your diary!

Artsfest in Birmingham City Centre  – 10th – 11th September 2011

http://www.artsfest.org.uk/

I’ll be exhibiting my work and demonstrating my techniques at ‘Art on the Railings’ in the city centre on both days. Look for ‘cocoa art’ the name for the trio of artists I work with – Karen Arnold and Rebecca Jayne Dolby. Both are brilliant artists and well worth a look. Mine’s not bad either!! We work in various mediums and styles so theres something for everyone.

Look forward to seeing you there!

‘Coastal Clutter’ is on display at the Leamington Spa Pump Rooms Gallery from 21st April – 12th June 2011.

The work there is really good and well worth a trip out to see.

Leamington Spa is a lovely town to visit and the Pump rooms are in a lovely park alongside the river - perfect for a picnic lunch – although the pump rooms have  a  cafe which is very good!

‘Coastal Clutter’

Graphite

I love the patterns and textures I find on the beach and the washed up seaweed mixed with old bits of rubbish tie it all together nicely.

This artwork can be seen along with ‘Pebbles’ at an exhibition at Artrix, Bromsgrove -

’15 INCHES OF FRAME’

An exhibition of art at Artrix, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire

‘In a world where everybody seeks recognition and fame, Andy Warhol’s words “Everyone will be famous for 15 minutes” seem even more relevant.
This mixed exhibition brings together a number of artists producing a wide range of work, the only constraint being the use of a working area 15″x 15″ producing their own 15 INCHES OF FRAME’

‘Rockpool’                            Oil & graphite                            FOR SALE

At last the final works from the ‘Rockpool’ series! It’s been interesting to see how each work inspired me in different ways to produce very different studies. I became so involved with this series that I abandoned my other drawings in my explorations! Ahh well – back to the easel!!
